Philip R. Potter

Before becoming an attorney, Philip served as both a police officer and an educator. Those experiences shaped the way he practices law today—listening carefully, communicating clearly, and approaching every case with discipline, preparation, and a genuine desire to help others. His background gives him a unique perspective when investigating claims, evaluating evidence, and advocating for clients facing some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

Philip’s practice includes personal injury, medical negligence, wrongful death, trucking accidents, premises liability, products liability, professional malpractice, and litigation. He has successfully represented clients in both settlements and jury trials, including obtaining a $6 million personal injury verdict in Gwinnett County. His commitment to thorough preparation and aggressive advocacy has earned him a reputation as one of Georgia’s leaders in plaintiff’s personal injury litigation.

While attending Mercer University School of Law, Philip distinguished himself as a member of the Advocacy Counsel, participating in both Moot Court and Mock Trial competitions. He earned CALI Awards in Torts II and Advanced Legal Research & Writing, served as Vice Chairman of the Mercer Advocacy Council, and received a certificate in Advanced Legal Research and Writing. These experiences laid the foundation for the courtroom advocacy that continues to define his practice today.

Philip has been recognized by both clients and peers for his professionalism and legal ability. He holds Martindale-Hubbell’s AV Preeminent® Peer Review Rating and has been selected to Georgia Super Lawyers while previously being recognized as a Rising Star. He is an active member of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, the Macon Bar Association, and the Houston County Bar Association, where he has served in leadership positions. He is also a graduate of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association’s LEAD Program, which develops future leaders within Georgia’s plaintiff’s bar.

Philip earned his Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from Valdosta State University before receiving a Master of Education from the University of Georgia. He later earned his Juris Doctor from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 2011. He represents clients from the firm’s Macon and Warner Robins offices and is admitted to practice before all the State and Federal Courts in Georgia.

Outside the office, Philip enjoys hunting, fishing, reading, and traveling with his wife, Meredith, and their two children. He remains active in the Middle Georgia community where he serves on the Middle Georgia State University Foundation and the Warner Robins Development Authority. Philp is committed to serving his clients, profession, and community.
